Thrangu Rinpoche
Publié en 1999
Livre
Documentaire
Tibet's greatest saint, Milarepa, had two great pupils; Gampopa who was compared to the sun and Rechungpa who was compared to the moon. Rechungpa's spiritual biography is one of the most interesting because Rechungpa had a great deal of pride and often did not do what his guru, Milarepa, told him to do. Yet as one reads this story one sees how Rechungpa interacts with his guru and gradually begins to develop true realization. There is no better person that Thrangu Rinpoche to tell this story. Thrangu Rinpoche is the ninth incarnation of the Thrangu Tulkus and also Khempo of Rumtek monastery which is the seat of the Kagyu lineage. He was the principle tutor of the four Regents of the Kagyu Lineage and has since then travelled extensively giving teachings to thousands of Western students. Besides offering extremely clear explanations of complex Buddhist doctrines, he has been giving these teachings on famous lineage holders to illustrate how one should practice on the Buddhist path. This book is part of a series of books on The History of the Kagyu Lineage which includes texts on The Development of Buddhism in India, the Spiritual Biography of Tilopa, of Marpa, of Milarepa, of Gampopa, and this biography of Rechungpa.

Schnetzler Jean-pierre
Publié en 1994
Livre
Documentaire

Auteur: 1902-1994 Venerable Acharn Thate Desaransi (Phra Rātchanirōtrangsīkhamphīrapanyāwisit (Thēt); The author wrote this slim volume as a guide for wayfarers, those people with the conviction that the Teaching of the Buddha provide results in accordance with causes, that if one studies the Teaching and puts them into practice with firm faith and resolve, one will be able to verify their truth for oneself. A first printing of 10,000 copies of the Thai edition "iJulofl" was issued on the 15th November 1986. The book proved to be of interest to many people, and has been widely disseminated, particularly amongst wayfarers, so that there have been four subsequent reprintings. Jayasaro Bhikkhu, one of the Western monks living in the forest monasteries of North-East Thailand, was amongst those who read and were inspired by this book. He formed the wish to make the teachings it contains available for Buddhists ofother countries to be used as a guide in their practice of Dhamma and so asked permission to produce an English translation. The author considered it a worthy and useful endeavour, and so granted permission accordingly.

Gen Lamrimpa
Publié en 1992
Livre
Documentaire
In 1988, Gen Lamrimpa, a Tibetan monk, led a one-year retreat in the Pacific Northwest, during which a group of Western meditators devoted themselves to the practice of meditative quiescence (shamatha). This book is a record of the oral teachings he gave to this group at the outset of the retreat. The teachings are brought to life by Gen Lamrimpa's warmth, humor, and extensive personal experience as a contemplative recluse. An invaluable practical guide for those seeking to develop greater attentional stability and clarity, this work will be of considerable interest to meditators, psychologists, and all others who are concerned with the potentials of the human mind.
