An Introduction to the Buddhist Way of Thought. The Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive (LYWA) is the collected works of Lama Thubten Yeshe and Kyabje Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche. The Archive was founded in 1996 by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, its spiritual director, to make available in various ways the teachings it contains. This edition of Becoming Your Own Therapist contains three public talks by Lama Yeshe on the general topic of Buddhism. Each lecture is followed by a question and answer session. Lama and his audiences always enjoyed the give and take of these lively exchanges, and pretty much anything went. Although these talks were called lectures, Lama would have each of us use them as a mirror for our minds and look beyond the words, find ourselves, and become our own psychologist. An expanded edition published in 2003 by Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive is also available and includes a second popular talk by Lama Yeshe entitled Make Your Mind an Ocean.

Quand le pommier de la pauvre petite ferme du Tibet a fleuri au plus froid de l’hiver, tout le monde a su que l’enfant qui allait naître serait un enfant très spécial. Tarab Tulku XI est né dans l’année du cochon de bois 1934, non loin de Lhassa, la capitale du Tibet. Il fut rapidement reconnu comme l’incarnation de Tarab Tulku XI et fut intronisé au monastère de Tashi Rabten dans le Sud du Tibet à l’âge de un an. A six ans, accompagné d’un long cortège, il entreprit un dangereux et magique voyage de trois semaines à dos de cheval à travers le Tibet pour commencer ses études à l’Université Monastique de Drepung. La vie de Tarab Tulku XI reflète la tragique histoire du Tibet et, comme tant d’autres lamas réincarnés, lorsque les Chinois envahirent le pays, il dut fuir à pied à travers l’Himalaya pour une vie d’exil. Dans des conditions très dures dans un camp de réfugiés indien, il obtint son diplôme de guéshé. Le prince danois Pierre et le Dalaï Lama prirent soin que le Danemark deviennent la nouvelle demeure de Tarab Tulku XI. Il continua ses recherches en philosophie bouddhiste et développa une exceptionnelle et profonde compréhension de la culture occidentale et de la façon occidentale de penser. Il a développé Unité dans la Dualité, une interprétation et une présentation des éléments universels du Bouddhisme et une méthode pratique pour vivre en paix et en harmonie avec les autres. La culture et la philosophie tibétaines prennent vie dans cette exceptionnelle et non-conventionnelle histoire personnelle de Tarab Tulku XI.
